Catedral De Mi Padre Mezcal was launched in 2022 by the father-daughter duo Jeff and Sydney Block. Having lived in Oaxaca for 8 years, the pair became enamored with the famous Mexican spirit and the way it connects “religion, culture, and family.” Their California-based brand partnered with 6 maestros mezcaleros from Oaxaca, releasing 6 different mezcals: 4 single varietal expressions and 2 ensemble mezcals. Each of these embraces the rich tradition and is handmade to deliver a true farm-to-bottle experience. Catedral De Mi Padre Espadin is crafted by Master Mezcalero Jorge, a farmer and botanist who combines tradition with science on his palenque that he build next to a plant tissue laboratory. Cultivating wild agaves with the help of 5 biologists from the lab, he crafts exotic mezcals that are counted among the best in the region.
